SUMMARY:Agile is Inefficient
DESCRIPTION:** PLEASE REGISTER HERE **\nhttps://trifork.zoom.us/webinar/reg
ister/WN_isZDw9PWTyC3qhLxEw40fQ\n\nJoin us for the upcoming online meetup
"Agile is Inefficient" with Klaus Bucka-Lassen. This GOTO meetup is focuse
d on the important difference between efficiency and effectiveness\, and h
ow you make sure to focus on the right one to maximize the benefits of agi
 le.\n\nABOUT THE TALK\n\nAdmittedly that was a bit of a click-bait title\,
but it is not too far from the truth. Agility is mainly about effectivene
ss. Yet\, most corporations that are striving to become agile these days\,
do it for another reason\, namely to become more efficient.\n\nBut focusi
ng on efficiency is extremely dangerous!\n\nBig companies that were praise
d for their extreme efficiency have gone bust or at least lost a lot of ma
rket share in the recent past. Certain management consultancies continue t
o sell their customers the same good old formula and advise them to become
more efficient by optimizing their cost structures. These organizations\,
therefore\, continue to build the same products\, just cheaper. But peopl
 e don't want those products anymore. Blockbuster\, Nokia\, Blackberry\, te
xt messaging\, the taxi industry\, local coffee shops\, newspapers\, Myspa
 ce\, and many more are well-known examples.\n\nIn this talk\, Klaus will e
xplain the difference between the two terms effectiveness and efficiency a
nd show how focusing on the latter can lead to multiple bad consequences t
hat you will probably recognize from organizations in your field.\n\nAGEND
