SUMMARY:DevOps monthly: Site Reliability Engineering + Continuous Compromis
 e
DESCRIPTION:Agenda:\n• 6:00 PM - Check in and hang out\n• 6:30 PM - Ann
ouncements and presentations\n• 7:15 PM - Chat with old and new friends\
 n\nTalk #1\n"Site Reliability Engineering Thinking for Everyone"\nDevelope
rs are not expected to manage and handle all reliability and performance-r
elated outages and issues all day. We could\, however\, be building our fe
atures and services with these concerns in mind. This talk will provide a
practical guideline for any developer to ship maintainable code.\n\nBio:\n
At Ada\, Stella Kim focuses on increasing the resilience of her team as we
ll as the features they build. Previously\, she improved the performance a
nd maintenance of multiple services at Shopify.\n\nTalks #2\n"Continuous C
ompromise: How Attackers are Targeting the CI/CD Pipeline"\nAs DevOps cont
inues to transform organizations and how software is developed\, it’s no
surprise attackers (and pentesters!) are increasingly targeting the techn
ologies that enable it. This talk will highlight a number of real-life exa
mples of how vulnerabilities across the CI/CD stack are successfully targe
ted and exploited. In which\, this has lead to the compromise of sensitive
information\, the co-opting of the build\, deployment and orchestration i
nfrastructure and ultimately the compromise of the organization itself. Bu
t all is not lost\, this talk will conclude with a number of recommendatio
ns for teams to raise their security bar without slowing development veloc
ity.\n\nBio:\nJamie Baxter is an independent security consultant specializ
ing in security assessments\, ranging from web\, mobile\, cloud and infras
tructure penetration tests to red teaming exercises. Prior to independent
consulting\, Jamie was the Director of Cyber Security Assessments at RBC\,
a Senior Penetration Tester for the Department of National Defense\, and
a developer for over 10 years. When not on an engagement\, he can be found
competing in and building CTFs.\n\nIf you'd like to be a speaker: https:/
