DESCRIPTION:We are opening 2022 with two presentations in our DevOps Vancou
 ver Meetup. The event is going to take place on the 25th of January at 6 p
 m PST.\n\nBill Manning from JFrog will introduce us to Software Bill of Ma
 terials and its impact on Enterprise DevOps.\nWith the White House’s cyb
 ersecurity executive order in May 2021\, has the Software Bill of Material
 s (aka SBOMs)\, graduated from being a “nice to have” to a “must-hav
 e” global standard when developing and deploying secure software from th
 e cloud? In a nutshell\, SBOMs provide visibility into which components ma
 ke up a piece of software and detail how it was put together\, so it's eas
 y to determine if it contains security and compliance issues.\nIn this tal
 k\, we’ll discuss:\nWhat exactly is an SBOM?\nSecuring your Software Sup
 ply Chain\nWhy SBOM must be a key element of your software development lif
 e cycle's (SDLC) security and compliance approach\nThe misconceptions that
  exist around SBOMs\nInsights and best practices on SBOM creation and usag
 e.\nBill is a Solutions Architect with JFrog. He is also a mentor with Tec
 hStars\, Matter\, and NestGSV. He has successfully exited 3 companies and 
 took one public in Australia. He is also currently helping various startup
 s as an advisor. In his spare time\, he likes to travel with his wife and 
 two boys. He also plays guitar\, loves the ocean\, and is an avid cyclist.
 \n\nIn the second part Willy Schaub will talk about his experience in sett
 ing up common engineering system at WorkSafeBC.\nExplore the trajectory of
  our Common Engineering ecosystem\nIn recent Meetups we introduced our eff
 orts to establish a common engineering system to empower our engineering t
 eams and strive for consistency\, standardization\, security\, and continu
 ous innovation. After we operated like the Rebel Alliance on the ice plane
 t Hoth\, I received the opportunity to create and lead a common engineerin
 g team that operates at the heart of our organization. We have an ambitiou
 s goal to empower every engineer by standardizing our engineering practice
 s and tools and enable continuous delivery of value to delight end-users. 
 In this brief overview you will get an update where we are on our thrillin
