 C and WebAPI
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a lunchtime presentation on Wed Jan 27 @ 12 PM Bost

’s nicknamed “Easy Auth”. It’s also known as Azure App Service Aut
hentication & Authorization. It lets you configure your app so that users
can log in using Azure Active Directory (AAD)\, Facebook\, Google\, Twitte
r\, or Microsoft Account (MSA). It’s great because all the difficult aut
hentication and identity stuff is handled by Azure without you having to c
ode anything in your ASP.NET Core MVC or WebAPI app.\nIn this session\, Be
n will should you the basics of Azure “Easy Auth” – how it works\, w
hy it’s helpful\, and how to set it up. After that\, we’ll go ‘off r
oad’ to start extending “Easy Auth” in order to handle more complex
scenarios such as enabling multiple authentication providers simultaneousl
y\, writing custom ASP.NET Core Middleware to implement claims-based autho
rization in your application\, using ASP.NET Core Policy-based authorizati
on in your app\, and how to create a “development mode” version of sec
urity that you can use on your local machine without Azure.\n\nAbout the S
peaker:\nBenjamin Day is a consultant and trainer specializing in software
best practices using Scrum with Microsoft’s DevOps tools. Ben’s main
areas of emphasis include Azure DevOps\, Scrum\, software testing\, and so
ftware architecture. He is a Microsoft MVP\, a certified Scrum trainer via
Scrum.org\, and a speaker at conferences such as Pluralsight Live and VSL

ea kayaking in order to balance out his love of cheese\, cured meats\, and
champagne. His online courses are available at https://courses.benday.com
