SUMMARY:May 2020 Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of great discussions & talks.\n\nZoom li
nk will be shared soon.\n\nPlan for the evening:\n\n• Welcome/Impromptu
Networking / Find key topics for Open Space\n• Talk 1\n• Short break\n
 • Talk 2\n• Open Space\n• Retro\n\nTalk 1: Continuous Retrospectives
by Linda Rising\n\nJust like a married couple who has been together for a
long time\, agile\nteams can grow a little careless in doing retrospectiv
es. Some of the rationale for the practice might have slipped away or the
insights might seem less compelling or\, in many cases\, a lot of focus on
problems causes teams to lose sight of the big picture. Learning might ha
ve stalled.\n\nIn this presentation\, Linda Rising will share her thoughts
and\nexperience on the changing role of retrospectives\, especially for m
ore experienced teams who might even been moving toward continuous deliver
 y. Linda will try to bring in some research from cognitive neuroscience to
help busy teams be more productive.\n\nTalk 2: Human Aspects of Dev/Ops C
onvergence by Gavin Campbell\n\nWe've heard a great deal about the need to
"bridge the Dev/Ops divide" and work in a collaborative manner. This has
produced a vast range of tools we can use to construct our bridge\, but wh
at about the people who form the pillars at either end of the bridge in th
e development and operations teams?\n\nThis talk will discuss how we got t
o where we are\, the impact of tools and technologies\, and attempt to add
ress some of the human challenges created by our evolving working practice
s.\n\nGavin is a recovering database developer interested in continuous de
 livery\, functional programming\, and cricket.\n\nhttps://www.devopschat.c
