ntal Health Studies in Devops\n\nABSTRACT\n========\n“How are you doing?
” is a question that is frequently asked but seldom heard. In our busy l
ives today working to solve devops related problems\, many of us put aside
“everything else”\, to spend more time solving the problems with Kube
rnetes clusters\, or writing code to minimize on call burdens. Then\, we r
ealize we're “burned out”\, and take time to fix ourselves. We notice
coworkers completely burned out and realize they aren't themselves anymore
.\n\nIn this talk\, I will talk about burn out\, and mental health from a
devops standpoint. Burnout isn't a new issue\, and many other well-establi
shed professions deal with similar issues of the workforce being “tired
”\, and having a hard time being enthusiastic about work. I'll spend tim
e talking about early warning signs for burnout\, how other professions de
al with this\, and steps you can take to continuously enjoy whatever you'r
e working on!\n\nBIO\n===\nKarthik Gaekwad is a Principal Engineer for Ora
cle Cloud. He's been in many engineering roles inside Oracle and was on th
e product teams that released various container-based products including O
racle Kubernetes Engine. He loves to write code\, but at the same time fig
ure out how to do everything in a sustainable manner\n\nWant to speak? Let
