SUMMARY:PayTalk and Technical Recruiters: Choosing one that's worth your ti
 me
DESCRIPTION:(Zoom coming on Monday afternoon!)\n\nAs has become a custom\,
this month will find us running our biannual Paytalk for the first half of
the evening\, and then we've got a guest coming to talk tips about workin
 g with recruiters.\n\nPaytalk\n----------\n\nFor those unfamiliar\, we are
going to post a Google form and ask you to provide anonymous data about y
our compensation and a few other things. We will then disaggregate the dat
a and look at trends. Over the last few years it has been very exciting to
learn both:\n* Folks were able to obtain significant pay increases by und
erstanding their value in the market.\n* Others\, who thought they needed
to leave a good job to make more money learned they were compensated in li
ne with their experience and were able to happily remain where they were.\
n\nPlease fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/JsUstaU6DYZJP5F86\n\
nWe've separated out the feedback form so we can start keeping the feedbac
k to improve over time. If you want to provide feedback\, go here: https:/
/forms.gle/8yJQNM7JtN1mCf497\n\nRemember that even if you cannot attend th
e more data we have the better we understand the market.\n\nNOTE: We will\
, as always\, destroy the survey data after the session is over to ensure
maximum privacy.\n\nIf you'd like the background on this\, check out J Pau
l Reed's blog post where we stole ... er ... borrowed the idea: https://me
 dium.com/@jpaulreed/talking-pay-in-the-public-square-70e588f54c8.\nOr you
