SUMMARY:Should you STOP using databases and end to end tests in microservic
 es?
DESCRIPTION:Microservices in one way or another every computer engineer hav
e heard about them and possibly did\, at least\, on step to implement one.
It is easy to talk about them\, it is extremely complex to implement in a
n effective way.\nIn this session we will explore two techniques that will
help those microservices to be developed in an independent way\, as much
as possible\, and also for them to take control of their data: contract te
sting and micro-databases.\n\nWe are very happy to welcome Allegra Cooper\
, Technical Lead at Vanguard\, and Rob Richardson\, Developer Advocate at
 Cyral\, with two excellent talks!\n\n========\n\nAGENDA\n\n19h00 - 19h30 :
  TALK #1 - Contract Testing with @Allegra Cooper\n19h45 - 20h00 : Q&A\n20h
 15 - 20h45 : TALK #2 - Databases in the Microservices world with @Rob Rich
 ardson\n20h45 - 21h00 : Q&A\n\nNOTE: START TIME IS 19H00 PORTUGAL TIME (GM
T+1)\n\nYou need to register for this event to see the Zoom link (under "O
nline event").\n\n========\n\nTALK #1: Contract Testing: Deploying Microse
rvices with Confidence\nSpeaker: Allegra Cooper\n\nIs your company moving
towards a microservice architecture? Are you trying to deploy millions of
services and facing the challenge of testing all the interactions of these
services? Let me explain how our company creates contracts between servic
es to ensure confidence in faster deployments.\n\nAllegra Cooper is a Seni
or Developer at Vanguard\, helping drive an enterprise wide change towards
continuous delivery. Allegra’s experience on various projects allows he
r to provide guidance in developing the most appropriate tool and framewor
k for each application. She is passionate about process automation\, conti
nuous integration\, and continuous delivery. Allegra has a background in M
athematics and Computer Science\, enjoys coaching others in code quality a
nd sustainable automation\, to transform the development and testing proce
sses in order to reach an IT organizational transformation.\n\n========\n\
nTALK #2: Databases in the Microservices world\nSpeaker: Rob Richardson\n\
nWeb technologies have come leaps and bounds. But are you still using the
tired old database from last generation? Let's look at the methodology of
microservices\, compare it to bounded contexts\, and look at ops tasks for
micro-databases. Let's tour all the flavors of databases\, understand the
ir pros and cons\, and when you would choose it. You'll leave with a roadm
ap for moving from data-monolyth to micro-databases.\n\nRob Richardson is
a software craftsman building web properties in ASP.NET and Node\, Angular
  and React. He’s a Microsoft MVP\, published author\, frequent speaker a
 t conferences\, user groups\, and community events\, and a diligent teache
r and student of high quality software development. You can find this and
other talks on his blog at https://robrich.org/presentations and follow hi
m on twitter at @rob_rich.\n\n=========\n\nIMPORTANT NOTICE: The talks wil
l be recorded and published in the DevOps Lisbon YouTube channel. By signi
ng up for this event you explicitly agree that your image might appear in
the video recordings. Nevertheless\, you can always get in touch with the
organisation ([masked]) to have it removed.\n\nhttps://www.devopschat.co/m
