SUMMARY:Software Engineering in 100 Years Time
DESCRIPTION:** PLEASE REGISTER HERE **\nhttps://trifork.zoom.us/webinar/reg
ister/WN_FrTNpIfhQjWSdEyyW4Dx3Q\n\nJoin us for the online meetup "Software
Engineering in 100 Years Time" with Dave Farley. This GOTO night is focus
ed on continuous delivery and why it may be the best starting point in exp
loring software engineering in 100 years.\n\nVenue/Host: Zoom\nCosts: Free
of charge\nSpeaker: Dave Farley\n\nABOUT THE TALK\n\nIf we were to more c
learly define our discipline what would that look like? If “software eng
ineering” is real “engineering” then wouldn't we expect the principl
es to be long-lasting\, durable and probably unsurprising.\n\nWhat sort of
ideas will be as true of “software engineering” in 100 years time as
they are today?\n\nWhat are the foundations on which we could begin to bui
ld a true engineering discipline for our profession?\n\nThis talk explores
some of those ideas and describes why continuous delivery may be the best
starting point that we have for that.\n\nAGENDA\n\n17.00: Welcome to this
GOTO Night with Dave Farley\n17.05: Dave Farley will present his subject
of the day\n17.30: Live Q&A with Dave Farley\n17.55: Thank you for joining
us for this GOTO Night\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\n\nDave Farley is a thought l
eader in the field of continuous delivery\, DevOps and software developmen
t in general. He is co-author of the Jolt-award winning book "Continuous D
elivery"\, one of the authors of "Reactive Manifesto"\, an independent sof
tware developer and consultant\, and founder and director of Continuous De
livery Ltd.\n\nDave has been having fun with computers for over 30 years h
as worked on most types of software\, from firmware\, through tinkering wi
th operating systems and device drivers\, to writing games and commercial
applications of all shapes and sizes. He started working in large scale di
stributed systems more than 25 years ago\, doing research into the develop
ment of loose-coupled\, message-based systems — a forerunner of microser
vice architectures.\n\nHe was also an early adopter of agile development t
echniques\, employing iterative development\, continuous integration and s
ignificant levels of automated testing on commercial projects from the ear
ly 1990s.\n\nTopic focus: Continuous Delivery\n\n** PLEASE REGISTER HERE *
