 eekend Women's Edition is your chance to kickstart a new company\, learn\,
  network and disrupt your industry of choice. We're focusing on creating a
 n all-inclusive environment and are aimed primarily at women\, however\, t
 his event is open to all.\n\nWhy attend?\n\nTechstars Global Startup Weeke
 nd is where passionate people can come together to get things done\; to le
 arn\, network\, bridge the gap between trades\, expose potential and see a
 ctual results. New York Women edition is designed to engage more entrepren
 eurs and provide them with the necessary resources for long-term success. 
 The weekend will be focused on empowering more women within our community 
 to lend their voices to innovation. It will be one of over 50 Startup Week
 ends happening around the globe\, and the winning team will qualify to att
 end our global (in-person) demo day with other #globalswwomen winning team
 s.\n\nWhy Women edition?\n\nOur aim is to involve more women in the startu
 p world. We have seen the barriers faced by women in tech and we would lik
 e to cultivate a wholly inclusive community. Women still don't fill enough
  important roles in tech. Women hold under a quarter (24%) of senior roles
  across the world and 5.2% of CEO positions at S&P 500 Companies. Closing 
 the wage gap for women would add $28 trillion to global GDP. As tech lover
 s\, women and entrepreneurs\, it is our responsibility to grow female repr
 esentation\, in NYC and around the world!\n\nHow it works\n\nBeginning wit
 h Friday night\, women pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from 
 their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas followed by a 54-
 hour of business model creation\, coding\, designing\, and market validati
 on. Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations wit
 h presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders providing anothe
 r opportunity for critical feedback before a final winning team is chosen.
